Great Classrooms Inside Real Recording Studios
A lot of audio engineering schools and music production schools talk about hands-on learning. Do you really think that touching the board in a college lab studio has any meaning or relevance in the real world? Our students learn in real recording studios, where real music is recorded for real albums by real artists. No college lab can duplicate the experience you gain from studying in a real-world environment with real client pressures and demands.
Advantage: Recording Connection.
One-On-One Learning
You have choices and decisions to make. Choice One (all the other schools) puts you in crowded classrooms and fights over board time on a daily basis. Choice Two (The Recording Connection) hooks you up as an apprentice with a mentor (professional audio engineer, music producer or sound technician) in a real recording studio where it's just you and your mentor—in other words, quality face time, each and every week. Of course, sometimes you and your mentor will be dealing with clients while you sit in, and eventually run, sessions, but truth be told, that's a good thing.
With us, you are always number one. Advantage: Recording Connection.
Our Mentors Have Lots of Gold Records
Imagine learning to be an audio engineer or music producer from the guy who produced U2, or Michael Jackson, or Prince, or Pearl Jam, or 50 Cent, or... With The Recording Connection, world famous music producers and audio engineers are your private intrustors (mentors). So, who would you rather learn audio engineering or music production from, a music professional who has Gold Records on his wall, or a college professor who has his degree on the wall?
Their teachers listen to the Gold Records our teachers produce. Advantage: Recording Connection.
Job Placement Assistance Program
Let's face it: the end game here is you want to find work as an audio engineer or music producer. We get that. And we do everything we can to help you succeed. From day one, you're building equity. The more you show your mentor what you can do, the more likely he'll hire you or recommend you. In addition, our Stay Connected Job Assistance Program will actively help you find employment for up to a full year after you graduate.
The other guys give you a cold-call lead list when you graduate. Advantage: Recording Connection.
The Only School Recommended by 1000s of Pros
There's a simple reason why thousands of professional audio engineers, music producers and performers recommend The Recording Connection... they know what we offer works. It's not rocket science: if you want to work in the business, you need to hang out with other people in the music business. And that's exactly what The Recording Connection offers. You get to hang out in a recording studio while you learn from a professional audio engineer or music producer. Nobody else comes close.
You can count the number of pros who recommend the other guys on one hand. Advantage: Recording Connection.
From Day One, You're On The Inside
Being on the inside is one of the biggest advantages The Recording Connection provides. Why? Because if you are on the inside, you are making connections daily. Because being on the inside is where jobs first become available. Because being on the inside means you learn how the music business really works. Listen, classroom learning is great in theory, but the reality is if all you've ever learned is from the classroom or a simulated on-campus recording studio lab, then you are essentially clueless when you graduate.
The other guys are on the outside, looking in. Advantage: Recording Connection.
Free Tutoring
With Recording Connection, everything is included. This means all your books, your own copy of the latest version of Pro Tools, and unlimited free tutoring are all included in our low tuition costs. This means if you have a burning question on technical issues, how to achieve the sound you are looking for, or questions about your current lesson, you don’t have to wait for your next class, you can contact Student Services and schedule a free tutoring session. Use it to improve yourself, get the sound you're looking for, or to impress your mentor with how much you’ve learned since your last session with him.
Unlimited free tutoring. Advantage: Recording Connection.
Connections
We're called the Recording Connection for a reason. Since the beginning, we have always known that the best thing we can offer our students is the opportunity and setting to make industry connections. Why? Because music industry connections are how you get work, how you get hired. Without connections, you are just another faceless job applicant. It truly is who you know, and with the Recording Connection you will make industry connections, dozens and dozens of them, starting with your mentor on day one. Then, as you continue through our audio course, you will meet, network and connect with music producers, executives, clients almost every time you go to class (in your mentor's recording studio). Connections, they are a primary reason our job placement statistics are so high. Connections, you can't survive in the real world without them.
Real world music industry connections. Big Advantage: Recording Connection.

What To Look For In An Audio Engineering School
by Brian Kraft
Let's start with this question. Why are you interested in audio school?
Is it because you want to make a living in the recording studio? If so, this report is for you. There are two main ways to have a career in the recording studio. One is by earning a living as an audio engineer, sound technician, or music producer where you record and produce other people's music. The second is by learning the ins-and-outs of a recording studio to improve the sound of your own band or music.
The Recording Connection Audio Engineering and Music Producing Programs are designed to give the student practical knowledge and hands-on experience for both career paths.
Other schools may look similar, but if you peel back the fancy marketing messages, cool photos and hyped-up buzz words, you're left with this fact they don't really prepare you for either career choice. That's why we're the only school endorsed by thousands of music industry professionals.
It really all comes down to this: We put you on the inside. Other schools keep you on the outside. Unless you are inside a real, open for business, recording studio (and this absolutely does NOT include an on-campus facility, no matter how awesome it looks) you will learn jack about the recording business.
NO OTHER SCHOOL PUTS YOU ON THE INSIDE.
Jobs in the music business come up frequently. Unlike most other job markets, when there's an open position it needs to be filled immediately, usually the same day. So, ask yourself, what do you think the studio owner is going to do if he has an immediate need for an assistant engineer for a session later that night? The answer is he's going to call someone he knows in other words, someone who is already on the inside. In many cases, that means he's going to call our student who he's already worked with and is familiar with. The one thing he is not going to do is call up some music school he's never worked with and ask if they could send over their best graduates for him to interview.
There are many other advantages of being on the inside as well. It means that your classroom is an actual recording studio and this means your classroom can be in a city or town near you. We have a network of professional audio engineers, music producers and sound technicians and their related recording studios across the United States. It means, if you are accepted you will be apprenticing inside one of these recording studios. That way you can connect with other professionals inside the music business while you are studying. Students from the other schools will be knocking on the door of the recording studio you are apprenticing at once they graduate. Guess what, they are on the outside looking in. You are on the inside looking up. Who would you rather be?
There's another significant advantage of being on the inside learning audio engineering or music production in a real recording studio from a professional sound technician and that's how it impacts the tuition you pay. Other schools spend most of your tuition on advertising, marketing and campus upkeep. We spend most of your tuition on you and the mentor (audio engineer, music producer, studio owner, sound technician) who is training you. Look around, you won't find one ad for the Recording Connection anywhere. We are successful because our system works and word of mouth is the result. We know how the music business really works, and want to do everything we can to help you succeed.
