Film Connection grad Madi Erion working with Road’s End Films!
Since completing her Film Connection apprenticeship at MediaFX in Portland, OR, Madi Erion is seeing lots of doors open for her in Hollywood—including, most recently, a chance to work on a new TV series for Road’s End Films as a set dresser! The upcoming series, titled Runestone, features actors such as Robert Blanche (Grimm, Leverage), Conan Stevens (Game of Thrones, The Hobbit) and Claudia Christen (Babylon 5). Madi has even gotten to hang out with some of the actors while working on set!
In addition to her work with Road’s End, Madi has been hard at work on own latest short film project, holding casting auditions for a June 8 film shoot. “The people at Road’s End have liked me so much that I’ve actually gotten some of the cast and crew from that show to be IN my little student film short!” she says.
“I just want to thank everyone at Film Connection for all that they have done,” Madi continues. “Since coming back from LA, I really feel for the first time that my dreams and goals are within reach.” Congatulations, Madi!

Recording Connection mentor Sean Giovanni catches up with us
Sean Giovanni, Recording Connection mentor and studio engineer at The Record Shop in Nashville, TN, recently caught us up on all that’s going on.
“We’ve had a lot going on in the studio!” he says. “We started out Tuesday mixing for the weekly show ‘The Country Fried Mix with DJ Sinister’ that is broadcast on over 35 channels across the country and will be played 24/7 on Sirius XM during CMA Fest. Wednesday we had three different full band tracking sessions…Today we are working with [country duo] unBRAKEable on tuning their songs for their new album. Tomorrow we are cutting vocals on new songs for The Farm, [a country act] that just got signed to Warner Brothers.”
In addition to all this, the Record Shop regularly produces a video show called Balcony TV which features different major artists playing songs on balconies all around the world.
Sean looks forward to getting his apprentices involved in all the goings-on at The Record Shop. “I like the idea of this program and wish there was something like this when I was getting started,” he says.

One more hint: this man only makes movies that matter, movies with a heart, films that say something about the world we live in – important films. He has made movies about WW2, spies and undercover operatives.

The Recording Connection is pleased to welcome our latest mentor, Bryan Reilly, chief engineer for RMS Sound Studios in Detroit, Michigan! RMS has been providing high-quality recording, mixing and commercial audio services for over 25 years, with a client list that includes Whitney Houston, Jordin Sparks, Bob Seger, and up-and-coming indie-pop act Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jr., among others. The studio has also done audio work for Family Guy, as well as many TV and radio spots over the years.
Bryan has gone the extra mile not only to produce stellar work for his clients, but also to make the clients feel comfortable in the studio. “You won’t get it from a website, a photo, a video, or a demo reel,” he says. “You have to be there to feel a vibe. Ask anyone that’s ever been here–artists, producers, actors, postal workers. They’ll all tell you that RMS Sound Studios is an incredibly comfortable and fun place to spend the day.”
Check out RMS Sound Studios’ website here. Welcome, Bryan, and thanks!
Radio Connection welcomes new mentor Melody Allen of Adrenaline Radio!
Melody Allen is the owner and host of “Wigginnout: The Hip Hop Movement,” a radio show currently broadcasting on Adrenaline Radio. “Wigginnout” focuses on bringing needed exposure to up-and-coming hip-hop acts.
“[We are] dedicated to promoting hip-hop music in a positive way in order to help independent, underground and commercial music artists get the right exposure they need in order to make the right connection to jump start their music career,” says Melody. In addition to their regular programming, “Wigginnout” also hosts numerous live events at music showcases, summer music festivals, seminars, radio show tours, etc.
One unique aspect to the show in contrast to other hip-hop programs is that “Wigginnout” strives to broadcast “clean, positive and respectful” programming on-air, with a zero tolerance policy for sexual content, profanity, racial slurs and other offensive material—although hip-hop acts may perform unfiltered content during the live shows. “We are always looking for unsigned, underground, independent and commercial music artists with a positive story or message to tell.”The Radio Connection is pleased to have a radio professional like Melody Allen training our radio apprentices.
