“This week I learned about the different types of microphones and their typical applications. My mentor and I labeled all microphones that have a case and established which mics should be handled with extra care. He also let me sit in on a very cool session at the studio – the pit band for a popular musical on tour wanted to use our studio for a jam session after opening night. After a few hours of cleaning and preparing for 12-15 professional musicians, they showed up around 11pm and played some funky jazz covers, as well as a few originals the keyboard player wrote. They were all very talented musicians and very nice people as well. That was a great opportunity for me, especially being so early in the apprenticeship (externship)- so I consider myself very fortunate to have witnessed that.”
