In this chapter I learned about tracking in the studio.
“It is very important to plan before a session so everything is prepared for the artist. This is important because it will make the work time much faster and decrease the chances of things going wrong, and the artist will be much happier with you than if you were not prepared. Choosing which mics to use is also very important because you want to get the best sound for the artist. It is also important to have a plot map so everyone has their own space and you know where everyone is. In the studio with my mentor I set up the mics and pro tools session and recorded him playing guitar and bass. We recorded a few takes of each so I could better understand and get a grasp of things.”
