“At the end of chapter six, with a better understanding of microphones and microphone placement, on February 3 I helped my mentor with the recording of an organ concert. When first arriving at the church we had the opportunity to listen to him rehearse. Moving around the church we found the desired location, to which we placed the mid-side. It was a challenging placement by the layout of the church and the direction of the pipes in relation to the audience and the seating; also there were pipes in the front as well as having remote pipes being played in the rear. The recording was done with a Sound Devices 744T digital recorder. The sample rate was 44.1 with a 24 bit depth on one track in a polyphonic wave file. A great experience once again!”Paul Rupchak, Knoxville, TN
