The Recording Connection offers something no “name” 4-year university or audio engineering and music production trade school can. From day one, you’ll be placed in a professional recording studio and receive one-on-one mentoring from award-winning producers and engineers.

With more than 200 locations throughout 48 states, you won’t have to travel thousands of miles for this immersive experience. You learn what it takes to make it in the music business from the inside alongside industry professionals. This includes recording, mixing and mastering, hardware and software, live sound design, and even business skills.

Syracuse is a city of around 140,000 people in upstate New York, also serving as home to Syracuse University.  Unbeknownst to some, Syracuse is also home to a solid and diverse music scene. While genres from country to hip-hop are present in the music community, modern rock genres such as metal, hardcore and punk also have a strong presence here. Jazz is also a dominant element in the Syracuse scene, with at least two outdoor jazz festivals being held here each year. Syracuse even hosts its own local music awards (the Syracuse Area Music Awards, or the ‘Sammys’), celebrating and promoting local talent. FAQs

The tuition fees associated with enrolling in the Recording Connection are much lower than many other educational programs. The program is also flexible enough that it can be completed over weeks or months depending on individual schedules and circumstances. We have about 300 locations nationwide, too, so finding a location near you should be relatively easy — along with securing the funds to proceed.

Students are expected to put in 10 hours per week with their mentor. If you’re hardworking and reliable, do not have excessive truancies/absences, and get the OK from your mentor, we can arrange for you to go as many as five times per week, including nights and weekends. Your mentor will teach, train, and guide you, while offering advice every step of the way.

We have many mentors, and we’ll work hard to ensure you’re placed with one who can help advance your education and your career.
