London, Ontario (not to be confused with London, England) is located in southern Ontario about 200 km southwest of Toronto, anchoring a metro population of about half a million people. As such, London is home to an active music scene, fueled in part by the presence of the University of Western Ontario, with bands and artists playing in venues around town in genres ranging from blues to punk to electronic. Popular music venues around London include The Wave, Cuckoo’s Nest, and the Wolf Performance Hall. Additionally, a number of noteworthy bands and musicians have ties to London, including rock band The Birthday Massacre, noise music pioneers Nihilist Spasm Band, big band legend Guy Lombardo, and teen pop phenomenon Justin Bieber, to name a few.

London is home to several quality recording studios, and its location within driving distance of Toronto offers access to even more music activity.
