Music Scene in
Your BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS AUDIO RECORDING SCHOOL
Boston is both the state capital of Massachusetts and the largest city in New England, hosting a greater metro population of around 4.5 million people. Not only is Boston deeply significant to American history, it’s also been a major player in the modern evolution of music, especially in the areas of alternative, ska, and hardcore punk in America.
The city also has ties with many notable mainstream bands and musicians, including Donna Summer, Van Morrison, Amanda Palmer, New Kids on the Block, Boys Like Girls, James Taylor, Aerosmith, and namesake rock band Boston, just to name a few. But a city the size of Boston has room for all kinds of music.
A number of today’s bands and artists hail from Boston including Guster, Boys Like Girls, and JoJo, the last of which had three of her tracks produced, recorded, and co-written by Recording Connection mentor Josh Monroy of Studio 1 Zero.
Boston’s music scene embraces a diversity of styles, including acoustic/roots, jazz, folk, classic rock, and hip-hop. As hip-hop, EDM, and other forms of electronic music begin to take hold in Boston, Recording Connection offers two Ableton programs for externs interested in learning more about the genre.
One of the premier electronic music tools in the industry, our introductory Boston Ableton program is designed to teach students core concepts, recording and editing MIDI, and how to take a song from start to finish. Our Advanced Ableton program will then build on that solid foundation and includes instruction on how to compose original music, produce high-level remixes, and gain the experience individuals need to start building their careers as a music creator or DJ.
For us, gaining actual real-world experience from the inside of a professional studio is the preferred way to gain the skills, awareness, and connections which often play such an instrumental role in starting one’s music career. That’s what Recording Connection offers its Boston students – learning the tools of the trade during one-on-one sessions with industry professionals. During these sessions, you could be spending time working on building new samples, creating tracks of your own, or even working with up-and-coming bands and artists.
In some special circumstances, you could even get a chance to work with the very same artists who have inspired you to make music in the first place. Most importantly, you’ll be getting the hands-on instruction required to understand and run Ableton from a professional. If music is more than a hobby to you, definitely see what we can do for you.
Many of our best students, the ones who put in the work day in and day out, even find themselves with jobs after completing the program. Many of our graduates have gone on to work at the very studios they learned as student externs. If you’re dedicated and are willing to invest the time and hard work it takes to get going in music production, Recording Connection can help you get the access and opportunities you need to get going today.
