Your ATLANTA, GEORGIA AUDIO RECORDING SCHOOL
Atlanta, Georgia serves as that state’s capital and largest city, anchoring a greater metro area exceeding 5 million people. With a rich and diverse musical history, Atlanta is considered by some to be the birthplace of the country music recording industry (back when Fiddlin’ John Carson made a record in Atlanta in 1923), and it’s produced a slew of notable artists since that time.
Noteworthy musicians and bands hailing from Atlanta include The Black Crowes, Sevendust, Third Day, Keri Hilson and Indigo Girls, just to name a few. The ATL has also become a major hotspot for hip hop. Ludacris, Big Boi, Andre 3000, Usher, Gucci Mane. T.I., Young Jeezy, 2 Chainz and many all came up in Hotlanta.
Because of the meteoric rise in the popularity of hip hop, Atlanta audio engineers need to be well-versed in all matter of beat-making, sampling, and other audio effects. To work with established stars, and the new generation of artists, studios need to understand the vibe, how to have the right etiquette, and they need to be outfitted with all the right gear. Ableton Live is an industry standard program for making hip hop, EDM, and other forms of electronic music. Pro Tools is the industry mainstay that’s used worldwide. Logic has its devotees too.
Want to get involved in the Atlanta hip hop scene?
