DJ Axenzo Allentown Live DJ

Read Profile

DJ Axenzo Allentown Live DJ

Background

Axenzo had recently graduated San Diego State University with a degree in mechanical engineering when he found that having achieved a major life goal, namely getting a degree to make his parents happy, had quite an interesting effect on him. Now that he’d achieved that, what else was possible? What could he achieve if he pursued something he was downright passionate about—music. While an engineering student, Axenzo had tried to double in music but the classes weren’t stimulating and were “very theoretical” with nothing practical or new to offer. Brewing at the back of his mind for years been the idea of learning how to produce EDM. While it wasn’t a choice his mother would consider practical, to him it was the natural conclusion. Axenzo was an active EDM explorer who attended shows regularly, a lifelong musician who played guitar and piano, and even wrote melodies on a whim. Music was just the thing going on in his mind. After completing his college degree with high marks, Axenzo spent a number of months training with a professional EDM music mentor who taught him Pro Tools and Logic with direct, one-on-one lessons. Although he already knew how to play a couple instruments he’d never set his hands on a DAW. Nevertheless he excelled fast, and consistently challenged himself while getting hands-on training and tips from his music mentor, a longtime engineer and EDM producer himself. During his time in the program Axenzo was able to create his own EDM songs, first starting on MIDI, then composing from within a digital environment. Crossing the bridge from having to play and record, to creating digitally “opened a door” for the EDM creator and DJ. In the two years since graduating the program, Axenzo has built a promising career in EDM as a DJ who has opened for Bob Sinclar, Robin Schulz, Steve Aoki, Marshmello, Borgeous, Nicky Romero, among others. Nevertheless, for him DJing and especially composing new material as a producer is a never ending journey. The great unifier isn’t by genre or culture for the rising talent. Regularly dipping into multiple genres and researching far and wide, Axenzo is in quest of something singularly specific: “I’m trying to create something that every time people listen to my tracks they’ll know it’s me. That’s my focus right now. I’m working on it every day.” Now, the melodies and musical ideas Axenzo used to write on a whim are being put to use professionally as he divides his workdays between producing new material and performing at venues. He says, he’s even got a surefire way of capturing the music when it hits: “I open the recorder on my phone and just sing the melody to myself. Even if I’m in the shower, I’ll get out and record it.” Now versed in Ableton as well as Logic and Pro Tools, Axenzo is fluent in the various DAWS and he’s confident in his capacity to continually explore and grow as an artist. And as for future goals, he’s got a few: “I definitely would like to play in big festivals. Hopefully at Ultra Miami, EDC Las Vegas, and I would like to go worldwide. I’m working on it. I know there’s lots of competition, but I think nothing is impossible.” As for the time he spent as an apprentice in the program, Axenzo says, “It was an amazing journey. I am extremely thankful.” Axenzo currently performs weeklies at The Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas, Nevada, and The Pool House and Sunset Vibes in San Diego, California. Request an Invitation

Gregory Hainer Allentown Post Production

Background

Recording Connection mentor Gregory Hainer is an interesting case. Usually our Recording mentors work primarily in the music industry but Gregory has made a successful career for himself in music as well as film, television, and video game entertainment as a music composer, voice over specialist, Sound FX designer and mixer on numerous projects including: Plants vs. Zombies 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Guild Wars 2, Prince of Egypt, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, We Were Soldiers, Dishonored, Black Hawk Down, and many more. Gregory does most of his work from Scorpio Sound, his boutique studio located in the Hollywood Hills. His unique skills-set, talent, and setup enables him to do work larger audio studios can’t. “From a client’s perspective, I own the studio, so there is no middle management overhead to worry about because the owner/operator is also the creative head. This means I have the freedom to choose to spend a little more time with my clients in order to get things perfect versus having to be out of a studio by a specific time.” Specialty might as well be Gregory’s middle name. “I get quite a few calls for the most unusual or difficult to design stuff that many in-house teams can’t quite seem to pull off convincingly, such as creating sounds for creatures, magic spells, sci-fi effects, light sabers and the like. But I will also get the occasional call to do the less-fun direct stuff like cleaning up poorly recorded production audio from a film, or digging out inaudible archival dialogue from excessive background noise.” On top of working in the film, TV, and video game industries Gregory also takes on Recording Connection apprentices and teaches them about both the industry and the craft of audio engineering.

The RECORDING CONNECTION is the audio engineering school alternative that gets you in the door of a real Allentown recording studio, where you will work as an apprentice (extern) while training with a real producer/engineer for a career in your choice of music production, audio engineering, mixing, live audio, electronic music-and its many sub-genres (dub fusion, industrial, house music, trance and more), club DJ and post production audio. In Allentown, NJ, your best bet for launching a career as a music producer or audio engineer is to apprentice/extern in a real recording studio—and that’s where we place you, from day one.

Why spend up to 50 thousand dollars (and sometimes more) to learn audio engineering in some classroom, when you can get trained more effectively in a real recording studio for far less money? Play it smart: learn on-the-job directly from the pros, and make important industry connections while you get your education. No one trains you for a music industry career more effectively or affordably than our music production school alternative.

To APPLY for our Allentown Audio Engineering School alternative, click here.

Don’t underestimate the small borough of Allentown, NJ. While home to just under 2000 people, it’s one of the most centrally located towns you could hope for when it comes to breaking into a music industry career. Situated just 20 minutes east of Trenton, this community known for its antique shops and quaint restaurants is actually within an hour’s drive of two of the world’s biggest music industry hubs—namely, New York City and Philadelphia. This gives Allentown the unique advantage of maintaining its historic, small-town vibe while offering convenience to two of the biggest music scenes on the planet. It’s like living with the best of three worlds.

What does this mean for you? Simply put, if you want to establish yourself in a career as a music producer or audio engineer, but you prefer the quietness of the small town to the chaos of the big city, you couldn’t ask for a better location than Allentown, NJ—and by training you in a real recording studio, the RECORDING CONNECTION can get you closer to the action than any ordinary audio school can.

Our advantage is our mentor-apprentice training approach. We don’t believe in classrooms because audio engineering is a hands-on art form—so instead, we place you as a working apprentice (extern) in a real recording studio in the Allentown area, where you’ll be trained one-on-one by a seasoned working audio professional. Not only does this approach help you learn the ropes more accurately, quickly and effectively, but it also puts you in contact with lots of other industry professionals who can one day hire you. The Allentown

Recording Radio Film Connection & CASA Schools is an Audio School Alternative

1

Located Across the Globe.

The Recording Connection is known for its locations—we've got hundreds of them, on three continents! Yes, even right here in Allentown, NJ. There's no need to relocate to a big city to attend our program—although if you want to relocate, we can train you pretty much wherever you like!

The other guys don't come close. Advantage: Recording Connection.

2

Learn on the Latest Gear When You Attend the Recording Connection.

Commercial audio studios exist in a highly competitive industry. To survive they need to have the latest gear on hand. With the Recording Connection, you will be learning at just such a studio. Guess what? That means you’ll have plenty of hands-on access to the latest and best equipment available.

Most school's gear is second or third generation. Don't get stuck in their generation gap. Advantage: Recording Connection.

3

Train In a Real Recording Studio, Not a Classroom.

You read that right: no classrooms in our program. Not one. From the first day of your training to your last, you'll be learning the ropes of audio engineering and music production in an actual, real recording studio.

Advantage: Recording Connection.

4

Be Mentored By a Pro, One-on-One.

If we don't teach you in a classroom, but in a real recording studio—who is your teacher? You guessed it: your "teacher" is an actual working professional producer or engineer, someone with years of experience and real album credits. But this person is actually more than a teacher: he/she becomes your mentor, someone who shows you the secrets of the business one-on-one.

With us, you are always number one. Advantage: Recording Connection.

5

Our Mentors Are Renowned and Awarded.

When we say our mentors are the best, we're not just bragging on them because we like them. They really ARE the best in the industry. They're the people who work with known bands and artists—names like Aerosmith, Kanye, Missy Elliot, Lady Gaga, and hundreds of others you've heard of. Grammy Awards and Platinum records are common in our mentors' studios.

Their teachers listen to the Gold Records our teachers produce. Advantage: Recording Connection.

6

Active Job Placement.

If there's no job at the other end of an education, what was the point of the education? That's why we don't stop with just your training. We also offer a job assistance program that actively helps you find work for up to a year after graduation.

The other guys give you a cold-call lead list when you graduate. Advantage: Recording Connection.

7

Endorsed By the Pros.

Industry pros love us. They really do. We've been recommended by some of biggest names in the business, because our program is specifically geared toward helping you break into the industry. In short—they know our program works, because WE know how the industry works!

You can count the number of pros who recommend the other guys on one hand. Advantage: Recording Connection.

8

Get On the Inside from Day One.

Let's face it: insider status is difficult to come by, especially in this business. The people who are known are the people who get the gigs. This is the biggest hurdle any recording school graduate has to face, because nobody knows you at first. Thankfully, our on-the-job program makes it easy to overcome this obstacle. From your very first day of training, you're actually in the door. You have the chance to build relationships and earn insider status at the start of your training, not at the end of it. (You can imagine the advantage this gives you when job openings occur.)

The other guys are on the outside, looking in. Advantage: Recording Connection.

Connections, Connections, Connections.

No two ways about it: connections are vital to success in the music industry. Connections are critical to getting jobs. Did we mention that connections are important? You can't make industry connections sitting in some classroom: you can only make them by being in the places where those connections are. Music industry pros are in the recording studios, and that's where we put you. It's simple logic, really.
