Recording Connection Working with Rapper Common

The Recording Radio and Film Connection is proud to announce our continued support of local and national charity organizations. Our programs have endeavored to support those seeking to better themselves in an effort to empower young men and women through quality education. In a choice to better the communities our programs we are apart of, RRF is proud to announce our patterning with Hip Hop artist Common to donate to 826LA. This non-profit organization is dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 through creative and expository writing skills. They too work to help teachers inspire their students to write and create in a world where skills in english are ofter overlooked. We in the Recording Radio and Film Connection are happy to join this fight and call on others to aid us in this cause.

862LA and RRF understand that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention. Just as our students learn one at a time with the help of our dedicated mentors in a college level course, students in these program get the chance to learn the same way but at an age when this is most necessary. Here kids lean how strong writing skills are fundamental to future success and that a community is meant to help those from within. Through 862LAʼs after-school tutoring, evening and weekend workshops, in-school tutoring, English language lessons and assistance with student publications children in Los Angeles are getting the chance to succeed for the future. Each program is designed to be challenging, enjoyable, and ultimately strengthen the student’s power to express ideas effectively, creatively, confidently, and in his or her own voice. These are the same principles RRF is trying to instill for the young-adults of our programs through lessons in audio engineering, radio broadcast and film production.

While 826LA is a terrific foundation in its own right, those with the power of influence, like the administrators of RRF, know that it is our duty to bring awareness to such organizations and spread the ideas we share. In this, spirit we wish to thank Common and his charity, The Common Ground Foundation for working with us towards our shared goals. Common has continually showed his dedication to the empowerment and development of urban youths in the United States. The Hip Hop artist, actor and childrenʼs author has sent a call for equality, opportunity and hope among youths in underserved communities. His foundation and The Recording Radio and Film Connections are committed to empowering urban neighborhoods and will continue to provide the life skills students young and old need to achieve their dreams.
