Lesson 3 - Sound Replacer and Drumagog
Ever wonder how professionals get that perfect drum track? In this new digital age amazing things are possible: a badly tuned drum set during a recording is no longer a problem, an out of time recording can be adjusted. Quantizing and replacing a sound has never been easier, and all the mystery behind the process will be revealed with the guidance of a professional recording engineer or producer.
Section One – Sound Replacer
Sound Replacer allows you to replace or mix an existing audio track with new samples from your sound library. Sound Replacer lets you retain the original feel by matching the timing and automatically adjusting the dynamics of the replacement sound to match the changing levels of the original performance. Up to three separate samples can be used to blend with or completely replace an original performance. Variations in amplitude within the performance determine which sample is triggered at a given time.
Section Two – Drumagog
Drumagog is software plug-in that lets you replace acoustic drum tracks with your choice of other samples.
