Lesson 2 – Sound and Hearing

Like vision and touch, our sonic awareness enables us to make sense of the world we live in. We examine the raw, objective characteristics of sound and how it travels through space, so we can harness our imagination and create captivating subjective experiences for our listeners.

Objectives:

Be able to define terms used to describe sound by the end of the course, as measured by the end of course quiz.
Be able to explain how waveforms work by the end of the course, as measured by the end of course quiz.
Be able to demonstrate his knowledge of sound by the end of the course, as measured by the exercise within the course.
Be able to analyze audio as related to hearing by the end of the course, as measured by the exercise in the course.
Be able to explain the difference between audio waveforms the end of the course, as measured by the end of course quiz.
Be able to explain why you would use equations to analyze audio by the end of the course, as measured by the end of course quiz.
