We took that old stale classroom concept, rebuilt and upgraded it by putting your classroom in a professional recording studio. Then we emptied out all the other students and left only YOU and YOUR TEACHER (yay for one-on-one learning!) who happens to be a pro music producer (with killer credits) to train you privately (at your pace, full time, part time, nights or weekends available).

We hit different and here is why: 

When we started Recording Connection more than 30 years ago, we wanted to shake up the system. We saw how students were forced to spend years at university, taking classes they didn’t want or need, and paying handsomely to do it. That may work in other industries, but making music isn’t like other industries.

The Recording Connection scrapped that timeline, curriculum, and the belief that you needed to go into six figures of debt to learn how to produce music. The first step we took was taking the student out of the classroom and placing them inside a real-world recording studio with a PRO MUSIC PRODUCER.

With the Recording Connection AUDIO ENGINEERING AND MUSIC PRODUCTION SCHOOL IN MEMPHIS, you’ll have one-on-one access with a working audio engineer or music producer. Your training will take place in a MEMPHIS RECORDING STUDIO learning how music is made from your mentor, a working music industry professional who is making music today. You help customize the curriculum, you help set your schedule, and you’ll get the resources you need to build a steady foundation for making music.

Recording Connection has more than 250 studios across the U.S. as well as locations in Canada. But we also have access for students that are unable to come to the studio for whatever reason. We understand music is your love, but you also have a life. 

For decades, we’ve been offering remote learning for those who may not be able to travel 50 miles to the nearest studio. As Covid-19 taught us, you may not even be able to travel outside of your home. If your computer is strong enough, fast enough, and has enough memory, you’ll still be able to take advantage of our programs. All you really need is a reliable internet connection.
