Allow your mentors to assist you with the development of your recording skills.

My mentor and I have been discussing in great detail about mics, placement, applications, and concepts. I have been working and recording material for companies and projects on almost a constant rate now, so my mentors and I have been going through somewhat of a crash course on mic usage in real life, practical studio recordings since that's what I am doing all the time now. Also because of the constant work flow, as well as my own home studio upgrade. My mentors have been explaining redundant backup drives and pointing me towards some really well made and highly used ones by professionals and studios everywhere. Because I am recording so constantly now, we have also moved into a lot of conversations and tips for recording with Pro Tools and all the basics of this, as I was totally doing it all by past experience, including trial and error. And it has been a huge help! Both of my mentors always let me pick their brains constantly with questions that I am sure to them are second nature. I have been developing my ear and understanding of full song mixing, and the concepts of compression, limiting, and EQ on an individual instrument level, virtual instrument, and then a mastering/ mix-down level. So, really helpful and exciting as I hear my recordings and mixes getting better and better.
