IN TODAY’S WORLD, EDUCATION HAS EVOLVED
Traditional recording schools have become outmoded. With costs ranging between 30,000 and 150,000 for tuition and fees, these traditional audio engineering and music producing schools are out of touch with today’s economic realities. Here’s a touch of sanity.
The tuition for Recording Connection's Audio Program includes everything: your mentor, the recording studio where you will study, your own Mbox and all of your books and materials. When we say everything, we mean it.
The tuition for Recording Connection's Master's Program includes everything except housing: your mentors, your guaranteed internship, your Mbox and all your books and materials. Additionally, you get to record your own music. There’s nothing else like it anywhere.
There are no hidden costs or fees associated with our accredited recording and audio engineering programs.
What Every Music Professional Knows
Everyone says it a bit differently, but every music professional has a similar opinion on the best way to learn how to record and produce music.
"The best place to learn how to be a musician, audio engineer or music producer is where music gets made—in the recording studio."
"If you want to get yourself in debt, go to a traditional college. If you want to make or produce music, get yourself inside a recording studio."
"If you want to make money in the music business you’ve got to know your way around the recording studio."
The New Reality...
A few years ago, when money was plentiful and student loans were abundant, the high price of traditional music schools was easier to swallow. But those days are long gone. Today, the new reality says you need to make smart decisions.
Only the smart and strong will survive and succeed. It makes no sense to start your professional life burdoned with tens of thousands of dollars in debt. That’s where the Recording Connection comes in.
Recording Connection - Saving Dreams One Student at a Time
We're not trying to talk you out of your dreams; In fact, we encourage you to pursue them. We just think that if you are dreaming of a career in music as a recording/audio engineer or music producer, the Recording Connection makes the most sense. It’s the one audio school that comes at the situation from a different and smarter angle.
Don't let student debt kill your dreams. Having student loans looming over your head as you try and start a career is not the smartest way to go. It can literally turn your dream into a nightmare. We’re not saying that student loans have no purpose; what we are saying is that you want to keep your student debt manageable. You’ll sleep a lot better and be able to focus on what’s important: your career in the music business.
Most traditional audio school students may graduate with a degree, but they also graduate with no job, no connections, and a ton of student loan debt. Worse, they know no-one inside the music business; the only people they know are other students (i.e., their competition.) When we checked last, a degree was not necessary to get a job in the music business. What is necessary is connections- the kind of connections you’ll make as a Recording Connection apprentice in a real recording studio.
Does this mean the Recording Connection will guarantee you a job? Absolutely not. But what we do guarantee is that we will put you in the place where most audio engineering jobs are offered--in recording studios--FOR 75% LESS MONEY.
Let's be clear...
We are an accredited music recording school updated for the 21st century. We are low cost, frugal, no non-sense, and placed inside actual recording studios.
With our structured music course curriculum, you will learn everything you would learn at a traditional music recording school, but it will cost you a lot less money. Additionally, by studying in an actual recording studio, you will be learning in a far more productive and beneficial environment than a college classroom. Wherever there is a recording studio, there is a Recording Connection Audio Institute program ready and willing to start training you.
Food for Thought
-
The Real Cost of Tuition
When you are looking at audio engineering, music producing or recording schools, don't forget to include interest costs accrued over 10 - 25 years. With interest, a tuition of 38,000 will actually cost you up to 100,000, not including books, materials, living expenses, and moving costs. That’s a huge obstacle to overcome at the beginning of your career.- That's not the case with Recording Connection. There are no hidden costs, interest accrued on 7,750 is comparatively low, and there are no moving expenses because you'll learn where you live.
-
The Real Cost of Campus Education
It’s not just the money that put’s traditional college education behind the eight ball; it’s the relevance of what you learn and how you learn it. On a traditional recording school campus, you’ll be learning alongside 50 or 60 other unemployed students. And guess what, your professor is not making their living in the music business, either. Otherwise, he/she wouldn’t be teaching at a recording school.- At Recording Connection you learn privately, one on one, from a working music professional. Your only competition is yourself and how hard you want to work.
-
The Real Cost of Zero Connections
It's not unusual for the majority of students who graduate from traditional recording schools to have no connections within the music business. This forces them to take day jobs they don't want to be doing (telemarketer, waiter, bartender, etc).- At Recording Connection, you learn inside a real recording studio- the only place where music professionals hang out and jobs are offered (when available.) Make no mistake--in the music business, who you know is more than half the battle; it's pretty much the whole war.
-
The Real Cost of a Degree
In today’s world, college degrees carry less and less weight, especially in the music business. You need to understand: if you are going to a traditional audio engineering school to get a degree in music, you will soon realize it is absolutely meaningless, and very expensive. Nobody ever hires anyone based on his/her college degree--not in the music business.- Recording Connection doesn't offer degrees, because as we said: for music, they are meaningless. While we do offer a certificate of completion, our true value is the on-the-job training and hands-on experience you will receive in a real recording studio, and the opportunity to make as many connections as possible. Like it or not, music degrees mean nothing. However, the experience and connections you will gain at Recording Connection could mean everything.
Note to Parents and Students:
Don't get us wrong, we're big fans of traditional education. If earning a degree is important to you and your family, we encourage you to pursue a degree in something useful (like Medicine, Accounting, Law, Business, Psychology, Information Technology, etc.) while you pursue your dreams of audio recording with the Recording Connection.
However, if you’re thinking of higher education as a means to gainful employment in something you love--the highly competitive music business--then Recording Connection is your wisest choice.
Recording Connection is available part time, nights, and weekends, so you can keep your existing job or attend traditional school. We also offer full time courses.
