WASHINGTON, D.C. is the capital of the United States and the 8th largest DMA in the country. The city was named after George Washington, the first President of the United States, while the name, District of Columbia , abbreviated as D.C, is a reference to Christopher Columbus.
Located on the banks of the Potomac River and bordered by Virginia and Maryland, Washington D.C. was planned and developed in the late 18th century. The city was initially intended to serve as the permanent national capital and the federal district was formed to keep the national capital distinct from the states. Washington D.C. is home to the Nationals of MLB, the Wizards of the NBA and the Redskins of the NFL. Plus, there’s the new 2008 Nationals Park in Southeast Washington that can seat 41,222 sports fans.
Surprisingly, Washington D.C. is also a musician's mecca, ranking 5th in United States music markets as based on SoundScan sales figures for recorded music. The District also has tons of clubs and music venues including: DC9, Jam Cellar Habana Village, Ghana Cafe, Be Bar, Love Night Club, The Park at Fourteenth, Black Cat, 9:30 Club, HR-57, Black Cat, Rock N Roll Hotel, Madam's Organ, Eighteenth Street Lounge, Carter Barron Ampitheater, Blues Alley, and Lincoln Theatre. And where there's music, there are recording studios, which makes the Washington D.C. area a great place to enroll in the RECORDING CONNECTION Music Recording School.

Lately my mentor and I been doing tracking, well, im watching and he's talking me thru it and same with mixing. We're trying to get my ears used to the different types of EQ's n such. Mic my first band. Took three hours but it was pretty cool. The reason it took so long cause my mentor wanted to try something new. Of course we had some bugs but the band dugged it and he seemed pretty happy. I ran around alot so i was too tired to enjoy it. My mentor let me handle the scratch track which was nerve-racking. So I winged it and turned out fine.
