Famous people from Phoenix include musicians and singers Alice Cooper, Tanya Tucker and Stevie Nicks, among others.  Steve Allen spent a year here as a radio disc jockey before his career as a comedian took off, and Linda Carter best known for her TV role as Wonder Woman is from Phoenix as is Dick Van Dyke. Sports wise, Wayne Gretzky, the greatest player that ice hockey has ever known is now the Managing Partner of the Phoenix Coyotes hockey club and Olympic gold medalist Gary Hall, Jr. is from Phoenix.

Among the many eateries in Phoenix, the FEZ bar and Salt Celler restaurant are popular are  destinations including the Phoenix Art Museum – Pas and the sport to Europe, the Chinese Cultural Center and Arizona Science Center.  Many popular music venues dot the Phoenix area: Homme, Bourbon Street Circus, nextDOOR, Area Phoenix, Karamba Nightclub, Silver Pony, Char's Has the Blues, Rhythm Room, Trunk Space, Modified Arts, Celebrity Theatre,  Brickhouse and Dodge Theatre.
