Boston Massachusetts Recording School

BOSTON
MUSIC RECORDING SCHOOL ALTERNATIVE

BOSTON,  is the largest city in New England, the state capital and the 7th largest DMA in the U.S.  In part, due to it’s large college population (Harvard, MIT, Boston College, Boston University and Tufts are just a few of the prestigious  institutes of higher learning) Boston has always been a ripe media center.

Boston Professional Sports franchises include the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Bruins and the Patriots.  One of the few cities that still supports two daily newspapers, Boston is also the 11th largest radio market in the country.  A list of TV series set in Boston include Ally McBeal, Banacek, Boston Common, Boston Law, Cheers, Crossing Jordan, Dawson’s Creek, The Practice, St. Elsewhere, Spawn and Two Guys and a Girl.  IBDB credits Boston as the location of over 810 TV series or specials or feature films.   Famous music acts that began in Boston include Aerosmith, Boston, J, Geils Band, Spirit and James Taylor.   Boston is the 7th largest market for music sales in the US.

Boston/Cambridge is very much a college town, and as you'd suspect, there are many wonderful clubs and concert halls throughout the area.  We particularly like the Paradise Rock Club, Havana Club, Rise, Utopia Sundays, Venu, Sculler's Jazz Club, Club Passim and the Lizard Lounge.

Boston and its across-the-river sister city Cambridge love their media and have large college populations.  Boston is a city that provides plenty of opportunities for those looking to further a career in recording or music.  RECORDING CONNECTION, with its mentor/apprentice approach to  music producing and recording education flat out beats traditional Music Schools.

What better way to learn the music business  than on-the-job, working on a real world production, show, or series in a real recording studio?  Not only is the work experience vital to landing a job in the music biz, so too are the contacts with industry professionals that RECORDING CONNECTION’s curriculum provides its students.   If you’re serious about a career in music, audio, or recording, RECORDING CONNECTION has a mentor/apprentice program that can help you attain your dreams.

Progress Reports:  Checking in on our Massachusetts Recording Students who are learning where they live in places like Newton and Malden.

Eric Holm
NEWTON, MA
Last week I completed Lesson 2 with my mentor. I then assisted in the recording of vocals and bass guitar.

This week I completed lesson 3 with my mentor. We spent our studio time setting up drum mics for a session later in the week. We also recorded the basic tracks for a rock bank (2 guitars and bass). Joe put the drum track in via midi and showed me the procedure, one on one.

Justin Carulli
MALDEN, MA
I just been learning everything.  This course is perfect for what I want to learn, especially because I get to ask questions directly to my private mentor.
