Music Producing - Audio Engineer - Live Event Sound
ATLANTA, GEORGIA is the 9th
largest
DMA in the U.S. As the original headquarters and still pivotal
player in Ted Turner’s media conglomerate of MGM, CNN, TBS and TNT, as
well as home to Coca Cola, the Atlanta Braves, Hawks and Falcons, and
over 30 institutes of higher learning including Georgia Tech.
If you had to pick one word to describe Atlanta's music scene, you would have to choose HOT! Atlanta is the 8th largest music sales market in the country. No wonder Atlanta’s thriving music industry is home to many famous R&B and hip-hop musicians.
The Dirty South style of hip-hop emerged in part from Atlanta artists such as Outkast and Goodie Mob. More recently, rapper/producer Lil Jon has been a driving force behind the party-oriented style known as crunk. In the late 80’s L.A. Reid and Babyface founded LaFace Records which is home Toni Braxton, TLC, OutKast, Goodie Mob, Monica, Usher and Ciara, among others. So So Def Records, founded by Jermaine Dupri in the mid-1990s, also calls Atlanta home with a roster that includes Da Brat, Jagged Edge, Xscape and Dem Franchise Boyz. Atlanta is also home to multi-platinum rappers Ludacris and T.I. Other home grown artists include The Black Crowes, Sevendust, sludge Mastodon, Treephort, Swimming Pool Q's, Uncle Green (a.k.a 3 Lb. Thrill), Light Pupil Dilate, Big Fish Ensemble, Collective Soul and Third Day, the Indigo Girls, Butch Walker. Keyshia Cole, Bow Wow, B5, Phife Dawg, and Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys have moved to the city and made it their home.
Clubs and Music Venues abound in and around Atlanta with some favorites being The Opera, Fever, The Velvet Room, Club Europe, Wild Bills, Sutra lounge, Cosmopolitian, Door 44, Leopard Lounge, MJQ Concourse, LAVA, WETbar, The Masquerade, The Tabernacle, Variety Playhouse and Roxy.
Atlanta is fast becoming THE PLACE for producers and artists to get into the music business. RECORDING CONNECTION’s Music Recording Program will hook you up and put you to work in a real Atlanta recording studio, with a real music producer as your mentor, so you gain both the experience and industry connections you need to break into the music business. My mentor is very knowledgeable. He showed me things that weren't in any book. It's hands on. It really is.

RECORDING STUDENT IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA
In addition to the in studio work, we did a FOH live sound for an event in Atlanta. I assisted at the board and we did serval other tasks like sound checks, we routed some new mic's and so forth. We also recorded the event to DAT, CD and Cassette.I learned while doing instead of talking about it in a classroom.
